Thompson Primary School is committed to providing an education of the highest quality for all its pupils and recognises this can only be achieved by supporting and promoting excellent school attendance for all. This is based on the belief that only by attending school regularly and punctually will children and young people be able to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. High attainment depends on good attendance.
The governing body of Thompson Primary School applies the regulations on admissions fairly and equally to all those who wish to attend this school. The School Standards and Framework Act 1998 introduced a new framework for school admissions as of September 2000. This policy conforms to the regulations that are set out in that Act and also further explained in the statutory School Admissions Code of Practice and the statutory Appeals Code of Practice.
Good Behaviour policy
Everyone in Thompson Primary School will be valued for who they are and for what they could become. Our good behaviour policy will endorse and promote the sense of value of each individual and for each other.
Charges & Remissions (Draft)
This policy outlines the charges that the school is required to make for activities which are not undertaken as part of the National Curriculum as well as remissions and refund arrangements
This policy is intended to allow you to raise a concern or complaint relating to the school, or the services that it provides. An anonymous concern or complaint will not be investigated under this procedure, unless there are exceptional circumstances. To enable a proper investigation, concerns or complaints should be brought to the attention of the school as soon as possible. In general, any matter raised more than 3 months after the event, being complained of, will not be considered.

Equality of opportunity is a fundamental aspect of the ethos at Thompson Primary School. It is the responsibility of the governors, Headteacher and all personnel involved in the school to provide leadership in the development and implementation of effective policies to promote equality of opportunity.

Parent Code of Conduct
At Thompson Primary School we are very fortunate to have a supportive and friendly parent body. We believe that educating children is a process that involves partnership between parents, class teachers and the school community. The purpose of this policy is to provide a reminder to all parents, carers and visitors to our school about expected conduct. This is so we can continue to flourish, progress and achieve in an atmosphere of mutual understanding.
Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
Our school fully recognises the contribution it can make to protect children from harm and supporting and promoting the welfare of all children who are registered pupils at our school. We also recognise that safeguarding against radicalisation and extremism is no different to safeguarding against any other vulnerability in today’s society. This policy will give clear direction to staff, volunteers, visitors and parents about the expected behaviour and our legal responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children at our school.
